This does not mean one cannot make money however it does require being mindful about where your income comes from and its potential consequences for yourself and others.

6. Right Effort

This step involves making conscious effort towards cultivating wholesome thoughts while avoiding unwholesome ones through mindfulness meditation and self-reflection. This includes developing insight into the true nature of reality as well as nurturing virtues such as loving kindness and compassion towards ourselves and others.

7. Right Mindfulness

This step involves maintaining awareness of our thoughts, feelings, body sensations and environment at all times so we can catch ourselves if we become distracted by negative emotions such as anger or greed which can lead to unskillful actions that cause harm or suffering for ourselves or those around us.

8. Right Concentration

Finally this last step involves practicing single-pointed concentration in order to cultivate mental clarity and calmness so we can observe our own thoughts without becoming attached to them or overwhelmed by them in any way. This leads to insight into the true nature of reality which allows us to let go of attachments and delusions thereby reaching enlightenment eventually leading us away from suffering forever.
